Act 1: A Coronation to Die For

"No, it's not!", said the captain, searching around. The groom, thankfully, was unharmed. More soldiers showed up. "Sir! We've arrived to provide back... up?" "No need, men.", the captain said. "I managed to dispatch them thanks to some talented civilians. Anyway, take the corpses and dispose of them, but keep the draconian. I want to try and identify him."

"... Uh, sir?" "Yes?" "What draconian?" The captain turned to look at him. "What draconian!? The black one, lying on the ground in his own blood!" he said, pointing to where the draconian was lying, only to see a bloody patch of grass, sans body. "... Oh bugger."

talented civilians? i did'nt see you kill one! the bug and i did most of the work!! heh, heh, but you did make a great target for that shock spell.

Zero goes wide-eyed. "Where's my knife?" he wonders aloud, looking to see if the creature he stabbed disappeared, and if it took the knife with it. "Can't afford to keep blowing money on knives!"

The other creatures are still there. But roll perception to see if you can find the one that you embedded your knife into!

o-ren listened after the dust cleared, and the battle ceased. " that was pathetic!" the spirit roared in o-ren's mind," i was so close, but because of 'your weak human body, i was unable to succeed in slaughtering him! i completely regret 'marrying' you!!"

" the feeling is mutual." o-ren said in her plain monotone. and besides, she thought, i'm curious to meet the man that 'did' kill him, who is he exactly?

" you should'nt try so hard to hide your thoughts from me, o-ren-chan, we've shared a mind for years, you should know by now that there is'nt a single thought you have that i won't know." said the spirit, in a new tone that o-ren had never heard him use before.

"..........." o-ren knew there was nothing to say to something that knew your every thought.

"you wish to meet that man, don't you?" he asked.

" its none of your concern!" she yelled in protest, what was with him today? he was acting creepier then usual.

o-ren heard the man's voice booming in front of her, and then she silently made her way over to him,

"um, excuse me, sir. but may i have a moment of your time?" she asked, in a false innocent tone.

O-Ren, who are you addressing exactly?

she was referring to knute, i described it to the best of her ability, that its a man with a booming voice who killed the draconian.

ooc Oh, I just wanted to see if the creature disappeared, is all. Instead, can I roll insight to see if I can spot anyone who looks like they might have known about this attack in advance?

"Perhaps the scarred one has taken the female? A search may be in order. I doubt he would have good intentions toward her." Though his mask is impassive, KhurQuinn's tone of voice shows concern.

"That's a good possibility...", the captain said. "Either that or she was nabbed while that overgrown lizard and his friends distracted us." He turned to his men. "Seal all the exits! No one enters or leaves this colony without my consent! Understood?" "Sir, yes sir!" the soldiers replied before going off to handle the situation as needed. "Now, as for the rest of you..." he says, turning to our heroes. "As I said, I appreciate your help earlier. And this would be the part where I say to stay out of this and let me work, but..." he seemed hesitant, though it was hard to tell from under his helmet. "... would it be too much if I requested all of you to continue to help the police during this investigation? I don't expect you to say yes, but you will be compensated for your efforts."

KhurQuinn considered the possibilities of helping to recover one of humanities leaders. Logically they would be grateful for any assistance he would render and as such, in a more receptive mood for his requests. On the other hand, such proceedings could be exceptionally dangerous.

"I will help to recover the female. It is my duty as a representative of the Zem to aid in good relations with our two peoples. I doubt that allowing harm to come to your matriarch would be a good start."

"I'll join up, if you think you could use my help." Zero offers chivalrously, while he plucks several canapes from a nearby table and stuffs his mouth with them. He looks up at the captain as if waiting for his response, but in reality he's studying his features to check on any signs that he might actually know more about the kidnapping than he lets on. "Mmmm... liverwurst."

knute looked behind him, as he felt a presence quietly aproach, he turned around and saw a young japanese girl, clad in white,possibly in her late teens, or early twenties, there was something odd about her, like something was, unnatural about her presence..........

" uh, can i help you? "

the fool's falling for it?! this will be easier then i thought. o-ren thought to herself,

" o-ren-chan is sooo devious....." said the spirit, his voice echoing though her head, and sending chills down o-ren's spine. whats going on with him? still, inspite that, she kept up her act.

" um, i was wondering, if you would help me around this station? as you can see, i am blind. " o-ren said sweetly, doning her 'cute face' please let him buy this act, i will need someone of his calibur to aid me in this strange land!

" sorry, but i don't have time to escort a little girl around a space station! " said knute.

hmm, theres something really off about her, she's not a normal girl, and thats not just because i saw her summon a spirit! wait, why would she ask for my help if she can do that? it was no amatur move either, knute thought.

damn, he refused! oh well, i soppose i'll have to find someone else to act as my eyes,

" very well, i'm sorry to have bothered you! " o-ren said, kindly, while bowing her head, damn! i can't help but feel this is such a waste!! she mentally complained.


" i think its a good thing, after all, i can't let any other man come near my 'bride' " the spirit spoke, then chuckled evilly.

oh, so 'that's ' what he meant. o-ren thought, nervously. that demon can't actually love me, right? then o-ren quickly perished such a ludacris thought. it was impossible, right?..................

You can easily tell he's serious about finding these guys and putting a stop to them, Zero.

"I thank the both of you.", he says to Zero and Khurquinn, then turning towards the rest. "And the rest of you?" he asks, noticing O-ren and Knute speaking to one another.

Zero nods at the captain, and looks sideways to assess his new gaunt, tall and extremely creepy 'partner'. "Hullo. The name's Zero." He bites his lip as he tries uselessly to scrutinize the expression behind the mask. "Ah.... How... how they hanging?" he asks awkwardly with a big sheepish smile.

Chu'nak is visibly agitated, pacing and looking around the room for possible paths that the abductors may have taken the bride. When the captain addressed him, he stopped abruptly and nodded. "I will aid you in your quest to find Mey'luk..." he shook his head as if to clear it "...the bride."

" i will go as well, nobody has ever seen my axe and lived to tell the tale, so why let it slide now? " knute replied with a hardy laugh!

o-ren turned in the gereral's direction, should i? its none of my concern, so why should i care? she contenplated, all the while, noticing that the spirit was uncharacteristicly quiet,

" how strange..." she mumbled to herself. then she dicided to agree to it, after all, it would be a great way to learn more about this world.

" i see no reason why not. " o-ren replied with a shrug, still curious at the spirit's sudden silence........

lilith heard the general's request, and saw that the blind girl had agreed to go, and a many others, dicided that she would join in the quest as well,

she sighed," i really was hoping that such a detour from my original goal would'nt happen, but it seems fate has other plans for me."
