Act 1: A Coronation to Die For

"Ah, yes. Necromancy has an evil side, do not doubt that. There are those that misuse it. What I practice is very different. There are those that will rip souls, unwilling, to the physical plane. To force them to do vile bidding. I, however, ask. I will only summon a willing spirit to this plane. Some are powerful enough to manifest themselves completely, such as Athas. Others will help me power small constructs. Some day I hope to refine both techniques. To help even the weakest to manifest and power even larger machines. Hence why I was so interested in you being summoned, Gasto."

Gasto laughs. "It all makes sense now! You know, you may have come off as crass at first, but you're quite alright,KhurQuinn!", he says, smacking KhurQuinn's back.

KhurQuinn's arm and leg gyros spin wildly as he regains his balance. "Er, yes. I have been told that I can be rather... disconcerting at first. My Matron has told me that it took her the better part of a century to get used to it."

"Your matron must have a lot patience...", Naria blurted out, laughing softly.

It was then that a message was broadcasted over the intercom, which was set up around the entire colony: "Attention citizens and visitors of Watcher's Nest. The wedding ceremony will commence in only a few minutes. If you plan to attend, please make your way to the courtyard now. Thank you and have a nice day."

"Oh. It's beginning. Is there anything expected of me for the ritual?"

"Just sit tight, watch, and don't draw attention away from the bride and groom. This is there special day after all.", Miranna said with a smile as she and the others began to take their seats.

KhurQuinn sits down with them, eagerly anticipating his audience with the newlyweds.

Zero shrugs at the insectoid creature with a childlike smile. "I hit him on the back of the head without provocation."

Yeah, you can tell he's telling the truth.

The insectoid relaxes his stance slightly, seeing that this was all a misunderstanding that the draconian had taken too much offense too.

"You should be more careful." he chitters, and walks toward the quieting crowd.

Zero watches the giant insect depart, effortlessly plowing its way through the crowd. The halfling had a sudden mental image of him just rolling the crowd up into a ball like a giant dungbeetle and he laughed heartily. "Hey, wait up!" Zero cried out, trying to follow. Damn harder to zigzag his way through the populace whilst carrying the giant chicken, but still he managed okay. "Damn, you're fast! Hey, I'm Zero. Nice meeting you, guy."

Not breaking his stride, but slowing some, he looks down. "Zero," he tries the taste on his tongue (ooc: wait...do bugs have tongues?). Satisfied, he points to himself with one of his smaller arms. "Chu'nak."

OOC: I think they do. I've seen bees lapping up nectar or something.

OOC: oh yeah, duh lol

Zero grimaces at the sight of the insect tongue, and his own tongue unconsciously tries to mimic its movement. "Chu...bacca?" he says tentatively, not quite grasping the sound of the words "Okay! Nice to meet you, dude. You here for the wedding, Choo? Oh, whoa! Don't tell me that it's, like, the hive princess getting married? Ha! And there's probably a whole bunch of drone grooms with her? And she's towering a full head over them? And she's all decked in amazon armor..?"

He makes grand gestures with his hands as he creates the elaborate picture, despite the burden of the giant stuffed chicken.

Chu'nak stops as the pair meet up with an impenetrable portion of the crowd. Satisfied, he looks down at the halfling, who is still talking. He waits patiently for him to cease. "I have no hive." With that said, he stares forward, waiting for the festivities to start.

"Oh."

Zero bites his lip. Well, this is certainly an interesting specimen, at least. Like many halfling rogues, Zero is not immune to the urge to join up with a larger creature to use as a mobile fortress. You know. Kinda like a pilot fish. That goes double if you're an actual pilot. Not so much if you're not an actual fish.

"So what are you doing here, when not helping out halflings?"

Everyone was present and accounted for (Including all players!), and there was a large crowd gathered, including some guards to make sure everything went smoothly. Though it was split down the middle to make room for the red carpet that was already there. The organist was doing a few practice tunes, until finally, she began to play the classic wedding tune.

Everyone would look ahead, seeing the groom, a human male, decked out in a rather impressive white tuxedo, waiting patiently for his bride to arrive. Everyone would then look behind them, as an older man, looking strong and healthy despite his gray hair and beard, escorting a young woman up the aisle. This woman had long, straight, fiery red hair going down her back, her face just slightly hidden by the veil she wore. The dress she was wearing, was quite enchanting: a flowing white gown with matching white gloves, going up to her elbows, and the people could just barely see her clean white shoes under her gown. The priest, a thri-kreen in white robes (yeah, that's not creepy or anything), stood at the front with the groom. The older man stood aside, kissing the bride's forehead before standing aside. One could guess he was her father, and it was clear he was happy about this union. The two soon-to-be-weds stood side by side now, the priest clearing his throat.

"We are gathered here today for the union of prince Justin Chadwin, and princess Callista Lunaris, not just as husband and wife, but also as king and queen, a great honor for anyone!" And blah blah blah, skipping to the good parts- AH! Here we go! "If anyone believes these two should not be joined together, speak now, or forever hold your peace."

"I got'cher 'peace' right here!", said a booming voice. Behind the crowd dropped a swarm of black cloaked figures, one of them taller than the rest. The shorter ones seemed to be hunched forward slightly. It was then said shorter ones threw their cloaks off, revealing skinny, black-clad humanoids, their faces covered by a mask with a single cycloptic eye that glowed a dark red. On their forearms they sported long, curved blades that swept back. The taller one pointed ahead. "You know your job, now get to it!" And with that, they all leaped forward towards the crowd. Some of the guards, including the armored patrolman that O-Ren and Lilith saw earlier, moved to intercept them. The patrolman spoke into his communicator. "Attention HQ! We need back up, stat!"

They seemed to be overwhelmed...

Battle time, everyone! Roll initiative and I'll have the map up later.

NOTE: Lilith has informed me she won't be home most of the day, so she may not respond until tomorrow.

KhurQuinn leaped out of his seat. He was fairly sure this wasn't part of the ritual.

Ryltar enjoyed people watching. Even thlittle altercation betwee the thief and the gaurd was amusing. When the PJ wearing fell out of th sky at first he thought it was part of the show. At least until the screaming started
